Changing 79 front clip to 86 clip ????

Changing 79 front clip to 86 clip ????


Hello guys

I'm updating the front end clip (dog house) on my 79 Chevy C 30 pick up, to one off of an 86. I'm seeing a few changes, like core support, fenders hood, hood hinges and that cowl by the windshield. Any one done this before and have any tips or advice to go on. I have all the parts already as well an 82 and 84 parts truck. I have more than enough parts to put this all together. The reason I'm changing the clip, is the 79 clip is rusted almost completely rusted off. I know I've seen this done before on other trucks, but just never realized that there were so many parts different. Any help or advice?
