Unhappy Sold my Intrigue, sad but true

I sold my Intrigue last Monday, sad to see it go, however I was afraid as fast as I rack on miles I was going to end up with a big bill soon. I will miss how nimble it was in the corners. I will really miss the led bulbs lighting up the road at night, just in tail light mode. I did learn a lot from this site and appreciate all the help I got, and I hope the assistance that I provided was appreciated also. I will keep looking on the Intrigue site to see if I can help, however I purchased a 2005 Buick Lesabre. I hope I can overcome the old man feeling I have with it.

(Sold ) 1999 Intrigue: Fram Air Hog, Bridgestone Potenza G009(Love em, just a little road noise)Upgraded to G019 grids they were even better. Silverstar Low beams and highbeams. Led brake lights, all marker lights and third brake light.

I ended up getting $3000 for mine, it had 130,*** miles on it. Not to bad. Although I had in the last two years put new struts, new tires and new front brakes(including rotor, calipers, and pads). The Lesabre that I bought has 20,000 miles on it..

Panzer, I am getting better about it, thanks for the offer though. I have a cane in my truck if I feel the need.

Traitor!! Heretic!!

OK so not really...

I can understand wanting to get rid of it, mine is pushing up over 175k or so, and I cant help but wonder. But I dont owe a dime on it, and Id be darn lucky if I could sell it for 1500 around here....so its of little economic advantage to sell it.

As for the LeSabre, I think some tint and wheels would go a long way toward making it look less old man. Of course you might end up lookin like a gangsta too..which you might be going for that look, heck if I know.

I have been thinking about putting some diff rims on, I just don't like what I have seen so far, I don't want to make my calipers look all nice because I have such an open rim style. Looking for a 16in rim that is sort of closed more than most that are made today. We will see what this summer brings. I did pull the Fram Air hog out because it was the same filter that my Lesabre has, so I still have part of it in my new car...

Re: Sold my Intrigue, sad but true

OH GAWD NO!
Don't feel bad, I finally spun the rod bearing on my 3.8, it had around 340K on it. I sold it to a guy who was going to (gasp) cut the quarter off of it to put on his. Too bad, everything except the engine still worked, go figure! Perfect leather interior, sunroof, even had a rebuilt tranny in it. Oh well, I went out and picked up a 1997 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 V-6, auto, air and roll down windows! It only had 86K on it, and I got it for $2K. It surely doesn't have the ride or the room of the Intrigue, but my new job is only 20 miles from home so it will do for a while. Now all I have to do is save up enough for a down payment on the new Ghost I've had my eye on...:sarcasm1:

Re: Sold my Intrigue, sad but true

Your LeSabre has the 3800 and the Custom has the 16's. $3000 is an excellent sell price for your Intrigue, but your 2005 most likely doesn't have a warranty. =You are sort of in the same mechanical spot as your Intrigue with hopes that the 3800 Buick is more durable long term.

=I will stick to the $500 Intrigues, but your Buick is one of the more reliable cars out there. Not a bad bet to make.

I wish mine had 16in rims, however it has 15in. I don't want to go to 20s, howeve maybe 17s. Not sure if I will do the change this year, however the port holes maybe an upgrade to do, and the pillar stainless trim.. My Buick is better in the fact that it only has 20,000 miles too.

Re: Sold my Intrigue, sad but true

20,000 miles versas 130,000 miles to me makes a big difference. The 3.5 repair costs for some things is much higher than the 3.8, also this car has a CD player and no digital HVAC controls. I feel more confident in the manual controls..
