Gluing electric HVAC actuator gear
I believe my actuator gear is slipping inside the electric actuator on my 98 leSabre.
Has anyone had experience gluing a cracked electric actuator gear on the HVAC? I'm interested in a cheap repair. |

Re: Gluing electric HVAC actuator gear
IMHO, trying to "glue" the gear would be an act of futility.

Re: Gluing electric HVAC actuator gear
It may work if you use a good quality epoxy and overlay the crack with it. I haven't actually glued an actuator gear, but I have glued many things back together and, sometimes, it works very well. I glued the pump fins back together in a washing machine pump once. Remarkably, the pump lasted for several years after and never failed again. I glued a power steering pump pulley back together on a Taurus and it broke apart on the Kansas Turnpike. That one didn't work. If there is not a lot of pressure on it, there is a good chance it will work-especially if you give the glue plenty of time to set up. I glued a side mirror back on my old Lesabre and it worked great. I used duct tape to hold it on while the glue set up.
