weird noise underhood and jerky after full stop
2001 GP 3.8l 13.5k. got this problem since last Dec. Happened once in a while but only happened after a full stop. I can felt jerky during acceleration and the noise was coming from the top of engine(can't figure out the exact position), not from transmission. The noise and jerky will disappear if I turn off the engine and start again.

Re: weird noise underhood and jerky after full stop
Are you sure that it is not the transmission? Sounds like a PCS or TCC (or a combination of both) to me. You can get it scanned by a trans shop or the dealer.
Otherwise you can isolate the motor by removing the serpentine belt and seeing if the problem is still there. You should be ok to drive without the belt for a few minutes.

Re: weird noise underhood and jerky after full stop
I also thought it must be the transmisson, but from my feeling, the noise came from the top of the engine. When this noise showed up, if i swtich to N or P and push the gas padal, the noise will become louder.
