95 tracker egr problem

Hi, have a 95 2 door 4x4 softtop geo tracker 16v MFI and have replaced the egr valve twice....because on the egr valve itself the end plug on the barrel end of the egr valve keeps blowing out. I would like to know why because at $130 a crack this is getting spendy. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Also this is a calif. emissions equipped 16v.

Re: 95 tracker egr problem

have you cleaned out all of the pipes going to the EGR valve? It sounds like you may have a clog somewhere.

Re: 95 tracker egr problem

I just took my EGR Valve off and cleaned it real good (spray it down with carburetor cleaner and used some pipe cleaner to clean it, the long fuzz covered wire things we use to use in school). About to take off the air intake and where it goes into the throttle body and do the same thing. Also used those pipe cleaners to clean all the hoses around the EGR. Hope this helps.
