2001 Steering Noise
2001 with 68K miles, when setting still or slowly turning the steering wheel to the right there is a audible squeaking sound, not noticed when turning left. Topped off the PS fluid but still present, any ideas?

Re: 2001 Steering Noise
Noise problem fixed. The car had been serviced a couple of days before the noise was noticed, the technician at the oil change place had topped off with standard PS fluid. After having a couple of mechanics scratch their heads, I looked in the owner's manual and the power steering specifices Mercuron ATF for the PS. I siphoned all the fluild out and refilled with correct fluid; I repeated for 3 more times allowing for a short drive between to circulate the fluid, no more PS noise.
