2001 Chyrsler Town & Country Rear Brake Discs.

2001 Chrysler Town and Country - 3.8 engine has disc brakes on the rear.
I cannot remove the rear discs because the inside emergency brake shoe is catching on a ridge or must somehow be released. Help me understand the problem and how to solve it.

You can tap on them lightly from the back side with a hammer. They should come off after a couple of whacks.

I replaced my brake rotors on my 2001 T&C a year ago. I had the same problem. I tapped on them lightly with a wood block and hammer from behind. Once they started to move I grabbed the rotor with two hands and rocked it back and forth for 5 minutes to work it off. There really wasn't anything catching on them just a very tight tolerance.
