88 Caravan starts buy dies after few mins.
1988 Caravan starts up. Idles, then drives fine for a few miles then sputters and dies. Or If I stop the engine after driving it for a couple miles, it will turn over but get no spark. Do crack angle sensors go bad or faulty? The fuel pressure is good. The cat is good I replaced it 2 years ago. I replaced the Ignition coil, Ignition switch on the steering column. From what I am experiencing problem seems to be a loss of spark. And I am wondering if it could be a bad crack angle sensor in the distributor on the 3.0 engine.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you |

Re: 88 Caravan starts buy dies after few mins.
How long since a tune-up? Check primary voltage at the the coil, engine cranking. Did you test fuel pressure with a gage? Are there any trouble codes? You should be able to get some mil codes by cycling the ignition switch, counting mil flashes. I can give you exact procedure, if you want?
