zc problem narrowed down

heres the problem on my zc swap, the injectors are getting too much voltage. they're getting battery voltage (10-12 volts depending on the battery) but both resistor boxes check out good(one came with the zc and I bought one) plus there is some residual voltage somewhere. when i turn the key to on the warning lights in my cluster come on a bit dim but when you use something that needs power it stops and I hear a zap noise near the map sensor, so there is a short somewhere...please help, I want my car back..or else I'm gonna end up like this

Go all through and recheck your MPFI wiring. When you hooked up power for the Resistor box is it going to the colored wire, while the leads to the injector plugs use all the other colors, it would be common sense.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, the differences between DPFI and MPFI plugs are whether they are high or low impeadance. I don't think that necessarily means voltage.

What are the symptoms of your car not running? Does it crank at all. Check your timing and firing order, thats what was wrong with mine. Loosen the timing belt tensioner and pull the belt off the cams. On the cams there are 2 up arrows point them up and align the notches on the sides horizontally. Than line up the arrow with the white mark on your crank. After that it should be timed perfect. You may not need to remove the belt but just set it to the marks and see if they all line up. After that check your firing order. THe highest plug on the Distributor goes to plug 1, and the firing order is 1-3-4-2.
