Unhappy ford focus idles rough

i have a 2003 ford focus with a 2.0 engine. it started to run real rough and my check engine light came on. they said it was my o2 sensor which i replaced along with the plugs and wires. neither seemed to help and keeps saying it is the o2 sensor. what should i do now?

thanks alot

Re: ford focus idles rough

Does it have a rattleing sound? or a smell of sulfer of a burning from time to time?

I have an 03 Focus svt and i had to get the catalytic converter replaced. Luckly it has its own 8 year - 80000 mile warrenty.

Did you take it do a Ford dealer for the light check?

OHHHH, when i first got mine...i had the same problem...they had my car for like a week and couldn't figure it out. I went to 2 different dealers. The second figured out that the wire/s coming from the O2 sensors had fallen on to the engine and were being shorted out!!!
Have them check that!

Re: ford focus idles rough

i found a hose that had a hole in it by using carb cleaner. u sray it on the hose and if your car revs up then you have found the hole. but it is a part that i have to order from the ford dealer... I do from time to time especially if i am running the heat that i can smell something burning. but when i turn the heat off it goes away...
