Need car reprogrammed!!!

HELP!. I have an 01 Mustang GT convertible with an aode transmission, and just had the transmission rebuilt. I have lost ALOT of power since the rebuild and was informed by a friend that has the same car that my computer simply needs to be programmed back to "performance" mode. Can someone tell me if this sounds like it may have some truth to it and does anyone have whats needed to reprogram it for a fee? I live in the Rising Sun, MD area. Please let me know.

There should be no need to reprogram the PCM after a transmission change. Check basic mechanical stuff before jumping to PCM reflash.

Check for vacuum leaks, proper operation of sensors (IAT, MAF, TPS, ECT, HO2s especially). Stuff like that.

Also on the transmission check the MLPS (aka neutral safety switch). If these or other sensors are not working correctly, the PCM may be forcing "limp home mode" which limits speed, and revs so you will not damage the engine. Check for any stored codes.

Also is the transmission really an AODE or a 4R70W? I'm not sure if it will make a difference since for the most part they are the same, but there may be one small difference that can cause issues someone else may know about.
