my 90 iroc z will only start if the steering collum is tillted all the way down and sometimes it wont even start like that. any suggestions. thanks

Fairly confident the actuating rod from the column switch to the ignition switch is bent or the ignition switch is loose.

I know this is a little old, you may have fixed it or not, but, could also be your VATS wire that runs to the ignition cylinder is broken, and every time you move the column, you make a connection to start. Does the security light come on when it doesn't start?
