a simple engine question for you

does an 88 crx have manual adjustable valves or not? mine ticks a bit and i hate it, no body hears it but me, but it drives me nuts, thanks for the help

yes, just lift the valvecover, and bust out the ole socket set.

socket set? you have to use a wrench and a screwdriver unless you have one of those ratchets with a hole through the head of it.

1. set of wrenches
2. straight screwdriver
3. feeler gauge

btw, all hondas tick a little bit.. its in the design of the non-hydraulic lifters.

on my dx, i used my normal 8mm or 10mm socket to change the tension on my valves.

you are supposed to use a wrench to hold the nut while you turn the the screw on the top to loosen/tighten valve clearance, and then hold the screw straight while tightening the nut back down to set it.

oh well, i wasnt really concerned with it, since i was just ripping my dx out and putting the b16 in.

thanks guys, thats what i thought, but i didnt know they all tick slightly, see im a v8 guy mostly, so usually you cant hear ticks,
