Lancer Coupe Advice...

Hey guys,

I have a 2003 1.8L Lancer GLI Coupe with an EVO 6 Kit (i couldnt afford the real thing)

First off, ill start by saying i know nothing about cars...mechanically...

Now, I have what the dealer called a 'sports exhaust kit', now is that what you guys mean when you say 'modified exhaust'?

Aside from that is there anything i can do (small things... ie not a turbo hehe) to get more power?

I already run it on Premium unleaded...

Here are couple of pics...now... dont laugh just coz its not a real evo

btw: the photo's didnt turn out all that great but you get the idea

Thanks in advance for your response guys

I know it wont help performance, but after all that money on the bodykit, maybe a few dollars more on some clear wing repeaters wouldn't go amiss ?

Sorry; Wing repeaters are the [in this case] orange indicators mounted into your wings between the whelarch and the door !

After al that money going into the bodykit, a nice finishing touch would be a set of clear ones. make the sides look alot neater !

In the UK, they do them [to fit various cars] in allsorts of colours; blue, green, red, black/smoked, so I'm sure you can find some to fit yours, wherever in the world you're from - would be a nice finishing touch

here is my 2c worth.

Filter: K&N filters pretty much increases bhp (very slightly, better than none!)

Ralliart ECU chip (amongst others): with the right sepcs you could find one that fits e.g GReddy (you get the idea...)

Ground Wires: muchos on the market

Spark Plugs: Denso Iridium Sparks kinda worked for mine

Lightweight Rims: Less weight perhaps?

Ultimately, you could install a supercharger. But that would create a lot of problems for you, your wallet, your car and the law.

Hope this helps. any other suggestions

thats some decent modifications on the body, don't go any further unless your planning to put a EVO 6 rear wing on.

New Engine?

My friend has a simular problem. Well, to turbo it would cost a lot, there is a lot of stuff you gotta do to a Lancer to turbo it, but an A3 engine from Japan would cost a lot less. Thats what my friend is doing, it costs about 3,000. Or you could just go with some moderate changes. Weight reduction, etc
