Cool 1995 Infinity Sound System

Hi everyone!!!

My husband just bought a beautiful teal green 1995 Concorde - and I love love love love love it! Its gorgeous has a great engine and handles like a dream.

I do have one small issue, the sound system dosent light up anymore. Can anyone tell me what to do to get the display back on? The sound is awesome and I really dont want to change it out for something that would lack the power the Infinity offers.

:flash:

I had the same prob with mine awhile back. The unit comes on sound was fine but the display never lit up immediatly and took awhile to finally have a display on it. Unforcantely you can't fix the unit. It has to do with the display not providing itself enough power and can only be fixed with a new headunit. I got myself an aftermarket unit myself after alot of looking around cause i wanted one that could utilize the stock amp to power all the interior speakers. I found the perfect one it was the Alpine 7897. I was able to find it for a reasonable price on www.hookedontronics.com. The other viable alternative that is cheaper but not as many features is the Pioneer DEH-P77DH. It's available on the same site as well. The alpine is 432.00 and the Pioneer is 198.00. The Alpine is good for features like XM radio expandability and i find that the onboard equalizer is more comprehensive than the infinities stock equalizer. The Apline is a single dimm form factor and only cost me 72 dollars to have installed at Circuit City. The installation covered all wire harnesses and parts and labor. The pioneer is a double dimm head unite but the Alpine folds into itself to look like the face has been taken out and it can be angled. There both nice units I would recommend both definetly.I would also make sure you get the install done at Circuit City for a good professional job. And both will tie into the stock amp. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask me at [email protected]

there is actually a solution for the display problem you have. However, it involves removing the stereo and using a soldering iron to fix one or two resistor. The information on how to do it is in :

http://personal.palouse.net/andy/Jeep.html

Fixing it may cost from $150 to $250
