Ri inspection
A garage checked my "ON check engine light". They replaced the EGR and EGR solenoid. These parts are side by side on a 2001 Toyota Camry. They said they also cleaned the injectors,intake manifold, and fuel lines. $600 dollars later and two days the light came back on. The auto zone said the light was reading EGR again. When the same garage went to slap a sticker on the car for inspection they said a different code showed of P0401...any thoughts what next to check? Thank you

Re: Ri inspection
Did Autozone give you the actual code or simply tell you they thought the problem was EGR related?

Re: Ri inspection
This the code description for P0401;
http://www.obd-codes.com/p0401 They are in the right area. I would go back and ask why the 2 items they replaced didn't solve the issue and did they really need to be replaced. My best guess at this stage is the EGR tube is clogged with carbon. Good luck. Mike |
