You must be familiar with the Fugowees.
We were once a proud people with our homeland in what is now the northern part of the state of Michigan. We lived peacefully with our Chippewa neighbors until a great misunderstanding occurred - it may have to with certain ingredients in the piece pipe, but that is an argument better left to the historians. The Chippewa’s attacked with and a fearsome battle raged for nearly a decade. In the end the Chippewa proved to be to much and nearly whipped us out. The last few staggered away in defeat to wander for years trying to find a home. While wondering endlessly on we started to lose our identities. Finally our leader picked a location for us to start anew. Unfortunately the English settlers living in the area didn’t understand our accent, so they asked who we were – We told them “We’re the Fugowee.” They said Boston.
