2005 Escape MAP Sensor Bad?
Intermittent stalling coming to stop.. I hooked up AutoTap (outside environment was approx 65 degrees F & sunny - nice day) to read and discovered:
Engine load at idle read 21% Ambient Aire Temperature 23 degrees F (It was 65 really) Barometric Pressure 99 (would this not be the same as 5 atmospheres?) Does this indicate the MAP sensor has taken a dive? Thanks for any help |

Re: 2005 Escape MAP Sensor Bad?
You dont have a map sensor....you have a mass air flow sensor...and if the pressure readings are significantly different than the real ones (look up your weather on weather.com or something similar) then you have either a wire issue or a bad sensor.

I heard a "buzzing" coming from the area around the MAF sensor when hooking up the scanner. It would start about 10 seconds after Key On Motor Off. Stopped when I reset the codes. Any way to check it with a DVM? |
