Question Help with codes

I just put a new 5.7 350 in and have the truck running but it has a miss. I am not 100% sure dist. is where it needs to be but didnt know if it could cause this code.
Code1= p0308 missfire#8 cylinder. Checked wires(new) cap(new) all new everything on truck nothing was reused....

Code 2= p1345 crankshaft camshaft somethin?
Anyone know a common cause of these codes?

Re: Help with codes

Welcome to AF, the dist must be synched to the crank sensor, a scanner is required for this function., no mention of year here so info is difficult. Can the miss you feel it if so focus on spark at #8, if ok recheck compression there.

Re: Help with codes

Can you feel a miss, or are you going by the codes?

Re: Help with codes

Ya Max I feel the miss. I took the distributor out today I didnt have the rotor pointed at that mark (little 8)on the distributor housing. Put it back in and it kinda smoothed out a little but at idle you still feel that miss and can see the motor jerkin a bit. You can turn the dist. counterclockwise and it gets really rough and wont start if you shut it off in that position.Clockwise doesnt seem to make a change.Im lost at this point.

Re: Help with codes

goin to check now will let ya know. When I first put this motor together I had adjusted the rockers to tight and that is why it wouldnt start in the beginning. I adjusted all 1/2 turn after no lash

Re: Help with codes

I rechecked all cylinders..a little over 150 psi in all 8. I put it in gear and hold the brake while givin it gas and and misses worse. I am about to change the cap just to eliminate that
