Exclamation Repsol Honda Custom completed

WOW, if you have never built a bike, by all means necessary BUILD ONE!

This kit went together very fast, although I did find some of the instructions rather confusing. It was probably just too complex for my simple mind!

The color is TS-50 over a base coat of semi flat black. I was amazed at the color difference compared to the GTR I painted from the same can last year.

Decals were trimmed to remove the orange/yellow areas, I didn’t want to wait on a can of paint or attempt to match the color with anything I could buy locally. Turned out rather well IMO. I fell my skills are improving with each model, slowly but surely.

Take a look and tell me what you think! I know some details are missing/incorrect, but man is that tubing small!!!
Anyone know how to build a stand for one of these that allows it to sit at its “ride” height?

Like a plain old bike rack? What about a clear plastic 'cradle' for the low part of the cowling?

Race bikes don't have kickstands like street bieks do your best bet would be to fabricate soemthing out of clear plastic like jay said, so it isn't too noticeable, at least at first glance

Talking

Thanks for all the replies!

I was curious about bikes for a while, since I started on this one, I've bought three more!!!!

I'll start on one of my Opels next and I promise to "try" following the directions on this one!

Jay- Thanks for the tip on the stand, I think I may try to fashion one for it soon.

Nice bike. Is that a 1:18 scale? Do the tires come like that or did you sand them?

Is that to scale Jay?!? Thanks for the tips, seriously!

I have looked over the pics I posted an realized the border where I cut the decals looks a little screwy. It's not gagged at all and I decided to put up another pic to prove it. More for my benefit than anything.

Sorry to keep bumping my own post, :spam2: but I am very pleased with this little bike!

JE123- The tires were sanded lightly to "scuff" them up. It's 1/12 scale. BTW- I'm original from East Tennessee, Tri-Cities area.
