idiots at college

Don't ask me why it took me a week to realize this bothered me, i dont know. Anyway last week, i was talking to this guy and im like the only thing i dont like about my next car is teh fact its gonna be a V6 front driver (91 buick Pak Avenue). I wanna keep my V8 rear driver (89 lincoln towncar). I don't like V6's that much. He's like what do u have against V6's? Mine beat you (2001 Sebring conv.). I didn't say anything after that, but what the hell. At the time of the race, my engine had about 3 weeks till she looked up (now she has 2) and only has about 65-70% of her power and the kid knows this. This same guy was one week earleir when riding in my car was like wow chris your car is really fast. Also he thinks the sound and lighting in his is the shit and better than mine cause he has 1 2 foot 15 watt black light and 1 80 watt woofer, while i have 2, 4 foot black lights at 40 watts a piece, and 4 3-way speakers. 2 have a 150 watt max, are getting about 110 watts and have 12 inch subs. The other three ways have 8 inch subs and 80 watts of power. I also have a ps2, vcr and a bigger TV. Someone wanna tell me why he still thinks he has a better room? I think im just gonna stop talking to this asshole so i don't get any madder.

Whos got the best room? Now thats a weak pissing contest.

Oh well. I happen to like V6s and will smoke 99% of the cars on the road.

The thing is, its a pissing contest to him, I only have the speakers because i had them before and I like loud bass. I bought the black lights because i like black lights. Same goes with the TV, I brought it because I had it before college started. I was just doing this cause i wanted to, not to try and have a better room them him. I have nothing against a strong V6. There are V6's id take over my V8, just not the one he has or, the one that I'll be getting in my next car. I have alot of respect for cars that have strong V6's, but his isnt one of them, and my next one isnt either. Personally, I could care less who has the better room or the faster car, its just his attitude towards it all. He is so sure of himself with how good all of his possions are. He just needs his eyes opened as to what is good and what is not.

Well, you're going to be fighting an immature guy for quite some time. It'll be awhile (or maybe never) before he grows up and there is really nothing you can do about it. Dont worry though, bozos like him usually get what they deserve in the long run.

Simply put - he enjoys his car, YOU enjoy yours.

You didn't buy an 89 TC for speed now, did you? The Sebring is meant to be a Luxury Sport Coupe (although I think it failed miserably), where as the TC was meant to be a Old-Roller Mobile. Just enjoy the car .

Believe me, I lvoe my car buts its not all that easy to enjoy a car when its as low on power as my car is. Sometimes it almost hurts me just to drive her cause she is so low on power. Speaking of that idiot, I just got a call from him asking how long my black lights, and hes gonna outclass me again . Sooner or later he'll figure out that he doesn't have the best of everything, but like u said yogs, he may never learn which is why i don't care any more(not that i did in the first place really, his attitude just pisses me off soemtimes).

Yeah, jerks can grind on you. Just ignore him or better yet humor him. Whenever he says his "shit" is better. Just agree with a "Yes it is" and move on. That'll fry his bacon more then anything because he is also looking for an arguement.

OK - I know exactly what you mean.

I LOVE the ride, comfort and security of my Marquis. The thing ain't no slouch, but I was annoyed by the performance when I first got it. So, I've geared it, have a Chip on the way, am gonna get an 80mm Throtle body for it, and maybe a smaller diameter Torque converter in the future.

So rather than spend money on superficial things (I already have though), spend it on real performance parts.

Depending on how much money you have, you should be able to do ALOT of good stuff for the car. A guy from Windsor is puting in a 347 Stroker motor in his 87 Marquis. That sucker'll go! You'll find lots of ideas of things to do for the TC on www.crownvic.org or www.crownvic.net - don't worry about owning a TC - they are pretty much identical to the Vics, and TC owners are Very welcome on the sites.

Kevin.

he thing is the chasis has 200,000, and ill need a new trans no matter what engine i get. I have the money, but the thing is, I have a 91 buick park avenue with under 45000 miles on it waiting for me, and im getting it for free, so the smart choice is taking the buick (but id really want to keep my TC).

Hey, if you can swing the insurance, then keep them both. If you play your cards right, you can make one a project car and the other a daily driver. By that, you can make mods on the one you truly love and just use it as a weekend rider. The other, a daily driver and you won't have to worry about modifications. This of course, is just another way to look at things.

id love to do that and ive thought of it, but since im just starting college, it would be hard for me to find a place to store the car, plus i cant put any good money into either for a good year and a half.

also i knwo for ure that that guy is full of shit. At the beggining of the year, he told me he makes $20 an hour working for UPS. he just told me that he makes 48K a year. there is no way in hell with the hours he works that he can make that 48k a year. The most hours hell work a week is 20, and he usually doesn't even do that. Besides, even at 20 an hour it takes more than 40 hours a week with out a week off, its not even 42k.
