That aside - what are the opinions
on the engine and drivetrain for
that vehicle?
How long has the 3.4 litre been in
service? What other vehicles use
that engine and trans?

1 The 3.4E RPO LA1 first year was 1996-current *depending on platform
The 3.4X RPO LQ1 first year was 1991-1999 *depending on platform

2 These were mainly used in the W bodys and the later LA1 was used in B and N bodys.

There may be some I missed but that is what I am aware of without some serious searching.
