The only obvious things that I can come up with is that some might be RHD as opposed to LHD and different amounts of pollution and different safety regulations.

Sorry, it's the other way around. California is known for the harshest emissions standards. Many car manufacturers try to get there cars up to these standards, yet in Europe there is much more leancy.

ex, The new (E46) M3 has 333 Bhp in NA in Europe it is 351 Bhp a different exhaust system or something is put on it.

As for such cars as the 360, both European and NA models have the same 396 Bhp, so I'd agree with Snowboarder and say the only difference to my knowledge is the RHD.

When you say make your travel, do you mean to live or visit? I've seen a RHD Bentley in LA Before, with European plates, so if it's temporary, I can't see why not.

And then there's the lighting standards(sidemarkers, colors, brightness) and the crash standards(door beams, bumpers)....

That's a long answer question.

In short, no, many european cars are europe only, due to different lifestyles, and demands of the two different markets. However some major companies will run two of the same model just with slightly different specifcations. (360 Modena) and some comapnies will have the same car but with different engine options.

For example, in NA most Mercedes come with a 3.2L V-6, as the base powerplant and then there are 3 or 4 optional V-8's now. In Europe, I know that there are about 8 engine options for the various models, a big difference is the widespread use of diesel in Europe, it hasn't really caught on in NA yet.

Yet companies like Volkswagen will have the Golf, Jetta, Passat and the Eurovan. Yet in Europe there is the Polo, different Golfs and a few other that are Europe only.

It's really varies a lot though from Country to Country, some big manufactuers are foudn under different name sin different areas. GM is Holden in Australia, they make some pretty neat cars, but we never even know about them. It's really quite interesting how big and varied corporations can get.

i just heard about some differences of us and european version... and when i look at ebay the prices vary very "strong" (right word? hope you know what i mean)

maybe my dad is will one in some time.... he is thinking about it...
he wants a cabrio ferrari but he cannot decide wich model he wants to have... and it won´t be a new car.... a used one with about 10k km
most he likes the 550 barchetta.. but price ... hehe
