See, he can run 10's and thats not that stripped. Ours will be some pretty extreme stripping. If we can get the car like 500lbs lighter than his and then run a 300hp turbo setup with a 150 shot of nitrous we'd have 10's and one fried ass honda. Thanks for the support.

His car is totally stripped. From this point you'll never get another 500 lbs out of it, unless you cut the floor out!

Also he's got 540 HP, 400 Lbs of torque and running low 11's on slicks. He's also got more than your entire budget invested just in the cylinder head!

You're delusional if you think you can even come close to running 10's on your budget!

WOW avw0516 you are too ignorant...its just IMPOSSIBLE with that small of a budget...instead of trying that why dont you just save up some more and buy a rex and then swap a b16a. theyre nice cars to have and it will last you a long time...

That was actually part of the plan, porting the floor pan and replacing all the body panels with sheet metal, and all the glass with plexiglass. Also if you didn't notice his car has probably done the 1/4 mile a few more times than we intend to do. We will just build it to make a ton of power for a few short runs. 1000 and 10 seconds, lol. you know i never clicked on this thread cause of how stupid the title is but after 8 pages, i had to come.

now i didnt even go through all 8 pages but from what i read on page 8. they have a crx with a d series and they want to run 10s with $1,000. first the size turbo you need to make that much power on a d series is gonna cost you 1000. you cannot push enough power through the stock block to handle that kind of power. if you try to push 500hp through a stock d series you wont even make it pass the 60ft you would also need to have it tuned which will cost you over 500. if you dont youll melt pistons. 10 sec is impossible with 10,000 let alone 1,000

I overheard them talking about after they show us up and run 9's, with 1,000 they are going to move on and show up NASA and go to the moon in a Ford Probe powered by a fire extinguisher and hot dog buns. All on a budget of $1200.

you can only lighten a car so much. you still need power. power requires money. you cant just slap a bunch of random shit together (camaro engine and crx body?) and expect it to work.

this is what you need to do:
save money for a long ass time. hopefully by then you will realize that you need to have some kind of value to anything you own. building a ghetto ass drag car only to have it blow up it not a smart idea. save your money and buy something good. wow...

I'm with civickiller, had to see what's going on here. Read the first and last page and all I can say is

The only way you'll surpass 10's is on an 1/8 mile track!

Better yet go buy a mid 90's Suzuki GSXR 1100 you'll get 10's no problem it's a hell of lot more fun on a bike than in a car.

HEY you idiot your car wont even last half of one run...your going to have to tow it to the track make not even half a run blow the motor and then clean away the leftovers...so what if you COULD make all that power with just $1000...the internals still wont be able to handle the power and then BOOM!!! and where are you going to get tires from that would allow you to hit 10s that are cheap? If all your thinking of is the power of the car then you really are an idiot...slicks are going to be need and after that how much money will you have to make power? not much I would say...there really is a difference between creativity and stupidity ok...you cant just expect to make cheap power and strip the hell out of a car and expect to hit 10s....
