Re: What up A.F? (Old School Members)

Me neither... but my frikkin camaro still ain't on the road. Needed a new (bigger) radiator and fan to solve a cooling problem, which required a short water pump, which required pulleys which also help with alleviate a slipping alt belt... when wiring up the fan I noticed how bad the carpet was... so I pulled the carpet to find some hill-billy version of sound dampener that was looked like it has water stains on it (rust colored), so I pulled that and found I need new floor pans.... AND THEN..... my wife decided it was time to redo the pool area, and I had to rent an excavator (which was VERY fun), and then I had to put up brick faced block walls which a mason friend assured me was easy and that he'd help me... and of course the bastard never showed up. So NOW I have to pay another mason to finish it up because I threw out my back... Which would make laying on a creeper welding in new pans seem like something that should be pretty doable.... But now she wants to have a new year's party... and that means I need to start building my bar................. . . . . . . . . . . LOL.... at what point does the world open up and swallow you whole?

It saddens me seeing this place now. Some of my best memories were posting here. Now?

This place pretty much followed Lance Armstrong's career.

That is how a LOT of the forum boards are now. Social media killed them. I used to moderate a local Nissan forum and it turned to a ghost board about 4 years ago. It is sad. I miss the old forum days. Social media just isn't the same. You can't go and search old build threads, or old posts that had good information. Now it is just google - and the info there is not always reliable. I liked picking the brains of the people who had "been there, done that" and knew what they were talking about.

Oh well. Maybe the old forums will make a comeback. We can always hope.

I'd also say Facebook groups is killing forums. I'm in a couple that are rather large and the administration asked if people would like to move to a forum so there'd be better control of content and not under Facebook, but member, oversight. It got shot down. Nobody wants to go to another site. They want everything there, in one app, under one large sight.
