Re: YAMAHA YZR-M1 2005 GAULOISES No.46
now that's a weird issue, seeing that they worked just fine in dry-fit. been reading your thread and am absolutely amazed at the level of detail you've put here. hope you get this worked out soon.

![]() I will try it when I finally failed. Quote:

Now I think it's mainly because of those added detail parts. Quote:

Tamiya must have not considered those additional parts and there's no room for those details. ![]() Inside of the Tamiya YZR-M1 2005 fairing, that groove(?) in the red circle is for the part in the red circle in the photo below. ![]() So there's no room for that oxygen sensor cable. And the other parts in the yellow circles are holding the fairing away from the frame. Actually I carved out the inner side at the begining of this project. However, it needs more room for the cable and other parts and I have to carve out the fairing more. It's very dangerous work and I made a tool to check the thickness. And temporarily remove the damper. After those big operations..... I managed to fit the cowlings. ![]() ![]() However, they are not fit completely, and more work is needed to reinstall the damper. I'm afraid that it will be very hard work. |

The thickness measuring tool is sheer genius! I'm glad it worked out.
Good luck with completion!

Re: YAMAHA YZR-M1 2005 GAULOISES No.46
Hi YongGun, after i read your problems i checked my self on my model if the left side fairing and the steering damper will do problems. I build to the 2005 Yamaha M1 with o couple o minor improovments, so, one part what i use extra is the steering damper from Top Studio. The enigne, fraim, steering and tyres are ready, the fairings are painted with primer and a coat of paint. I need to recoat again but in this moment everything fit's perfectly. I don't believe the fairing will warp so much after paint and clearcoat. I neved had such a problem.
In your case probably the fairing is still to thick, and the many added details are the problem, but this is not your fault. But one question, why to cover them and not to show them? At least let the left side open, in this case the viewers have much more to see from your stunning work!

K, well, I'm gonna go throw all my kits in the garbage now...
I don't know how detail to this level is even possible, but good lord, you've done one hell of a job with this. I've never seen something so impressive on such a small scale. Great work. I mean this really is an artist's work, dude. |
