Re: 40 ford wagon resto

Thanks everyone for the compliments. While this was about the most relaxing model I have worked on, I pretty much lost interest in it once I started the murals on the sides. But updates will be coming soon, thanks again.

Nooooooooo!!!!!
You must finish it! This build is too awsome to go to waste!
And since I am in a "bumpy" mood today, what's up with that 4-engined monster of yours??

Re: 40 ford wagon resto

Thanks everyone, it has slowed down alot but not forgotten. Sorry for the wimpy little update.

Almost done this side, most of the work remaining is in the hair area.
Klutz, I'm holding off the challenger until I finish this, don't like to have too much on the go at once, dont know how John does it.
Cheers gang.

Fantastic. That airbrush work is unbelievable.

I don't know how I do it either.

Re: 40 ford wagon resto

What airbrush are you using? I'm rather curious about how you do the fine detailing with an airbrush like that - I've got some character figures I want to give a go, but haven't the skill yet. I can only lay down a smooth coat of one color all over a car - paint like that is nuts!

Re: 40 ford wagon resto

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback, I was hoping to have a pic of this cleared but I'm holding off for now as I have some work to clear in a few days and will do them all at once.
Klutz- never thought I'd see my hamster ship on this forum. Sold the video camera and my main star died years ago, no movie.
Cobra-I cant paint cars as I have no garage, but I have painted car hoods.
Willimo-I use a Paasche VL with the main body removed, just so it fits better in my hand. For flat surfaces, I cut out basic shapes in Frisket paper and use templates with random curves cut into them ( cigarette packs are perfect for this) If you break down the sections of the picture and do them one at a time, it's not really that hard. I sometimes use a small paint brush to pick out details too, which in this model I did alot.
Hope to have this clear coated as soon as possible!
