Re: S2000 widebody WIP
Sorry to drudge this thing back up again when there's STILL NO PROGRESS?!?!?!?!?! but anyway, I saw this and started thinking it might be a really nice color scheme for this S2000 of mine that is taking forever because either I'm too lazy, to busy or both!!

Ey,
A Honduh is neva a Niss an,kay? Don't eva compare 'em. LOL,just kiddin'! Hmm,if you use that scheme, you're going to have the TE-37's on it,or different wheels with the same colors? It does look very good!

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
If I went with that color scheme I'd most likely go with the TE37s. The rear TE37s would be made deeper.

S2000 widebody WIP need a little help!
Hey guys, I need some help figuring something out here. I want to cut the lip of the TE37 off, and cut the back section of the rim off, swap that back section over to the front and reatatch the lip so that I preserve the lip detail, and deepen the rear wheels for this thing. My original idea was to atatch
the wheel to my dremel so that I could spin the wheel on the dremel while I cut the wheel with an exacto knife. BUT I couldn't find a decent way to atatch the wheel to my dremel. So, I could use some suggestions. I know someone out there has to have done this before. But I didn't find anything when I attempted to search for it. ![]() Also I am hoping to get back into things here once the weather gets nice again. In the mean time here's a little sneek peek at some of the projects I have on the go. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
Thanks guys! Most of em should be in primer once the weather gets nice enough. I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna do any body mods on the S13 yet.
So does anyone have any helpful advice on my little wheel issue? I need deeper TE37s for the rear of this thing!! |

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
If your lip isn't too wide, you could very well try a piece of styrene wrapped and glued around, it would make the rim a tad bigger and as wide as you want. It's easy-peasy, and has got quite good results if you don't do it too wide.

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
hey energon, do you have any extra sets of rims with separate lips on them? thats the easiest way to deepen that lip, I've got several sets, and have tried a few different lips and most look close enough to pass for the real deal, if you don't have any extras pm me and I'll look around my resin ones...

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
Hello,
I can chime in here 'cause it is an issue I've also been thinking about for a while. ![]() I use the 2 mm rod that is usually the rear axle of an older Fujimi kit, and cut it in half. ![]() The size collet that works is 1/16". ![]() Now just pop the wheel on there. Works great for sanding tires down to visually pleasing dimensions, which is what I use it for. ![]() Hope it helps. Keep it up with the s2000. It looks great thus far. ![]() |

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
Thanks so much!! That is pure genius!!!!! And it's so simple I feel stupid for not thinking of it. I've got some Fujimi metal axels too! Here I was trying to use some Aoshima plastic spindles and they were just twisting off (which shoulda been obvious). Thanks very much to bigfrit and stryfe101 as well for your suggestions. But A. I don't want to increase the diameter of the wheel what so ever, they're already 19" and don't need to be any bigger.... especially on a S2000. and B. I DO have sets of wheels with the seperate lips, but don't want to scrap a set of wheels for em, I also don't have the suplies or the funds to get the suplies to cast em either. They are good suggestions as well though! But I'm definitely gonna give sileightsix's suggestion a try. Thanks very much guys!!

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
Alrighty! Sileightsix's trick worked great.
![]() ![]() BUT, I think I may have made it a little too deep for this car, tell me what you think, it doesn't seem toooo bad, but it kinda seems a little too deep. ![]() ![]() |

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
Yay, another update, thanks for keeping us up to date dude, seems like it's very close to completion, eh!
And sadly, i think it's also too deep. I 'd half the depth on the rear, but then that's just me. eitherway, go the extra mile, finish it when you're ready and make it just as good as you can do! |

Re: S2000 widebody WIP
To deep? NO! That would look fan-freakin'-tastic if you painted the centers a light metal color (silver, light gunmetal, bronze, gold, etc) and painted the lip with alclad chrome. People would be asking where you got such DEEP rims, and you could boast that YOU made them! haha, man it really does look good.
