this may seem kinda newbish but wht do you paint the parts while still on the tree (never done this way before)

i do this too.

its so that there is something to hold onto the piece with while its been painted. That way you get no fingerprints on the part. the only probelm is that when it comes time to remove the parts from the tree you are left with small unpainted areas that need touching up. you could tape the parts to a stick instead, but sometimes this makes life even more difficult...

if your airbrushing parts it makes life much easier if they are still on the tree. in the case of the door cards the mounting to the sprue is in a place that wont affect the paint which is a good thing. but some others have mountings in obvious places. i sometimes cut the piece off the sprue, reshape the sprue and temp glue it back on.

I too leave as much as I can on the trees, as I use a spray can for most things satin black etc, I tape as many srues as possible to a plastic chop stick I have, it actually looks like a tree sometimes, but has the advantage that if set up properly you can rotate the chopstick in your hand and get better coverage and less wastage, the real trick is to remove as mant attachment points as possible but keeping at least one good one per item.

Finally made a decision re the wing and am going to go with the Evo style one with SAS cf decal

Just need to sort out the chassis now
