Re: Novitec Rosso Ferrari 599

Well, that is definitely an inspiring build for me. I feel sorry for the bad luck you experienced lately but your progress looks excellent so far and the white suits the car pretty well.

Re: Novitec Rosso Ferrari 599

thanks christophe & alex!

redo the suede on the seat, just mist spray thick flat black

painted the wheel in white, the masking for the semigloss black will test my skill

polished all CF parts, now the tricky part, masking..

paint the exhaust in gloss black, alclad polish aluminum, and some enamel dark brown to tone it a bit

exhaust paint in gloss black, then alclad polish aluminum for the pipe, the muffler is rub with kosutte gin san (wave) powder, looks slightly dark but gimme the reflective i wanted

Holy smoke! This is very intense! I love the seats too. They look very real!!!

The interior is looking very convincing as well. Great job, indeed!

Re: Novitec Rosso Ferrari 599

Wow, at first i thought you used microballons on the inner seats or textured spray paint. But your process was too good, very convincing.

Re: Novitec Rosso Ferrari 599

Thanks guys! more updates and a slight disappointment

Spend almost 2 hours to masked the interior

score the line with a toothpick, then carefully cut with a modeling knife

cover with masking sol to ensure no masking leak

probably i'm too rush & wanted to finish the interior, and already very late in the midnight, the result wasn't perfect

i thought compound might smoother it, so i did, and somehow some compound got stuck at the speaker grill's tiny holes, so i poke it and the speaker fell off, damnn..i superglue it back and things get mess up, why the hell i always mess up with super glue

so i lightly sand off the superglue residue, masked & respray...already 3am

taken this morning, the interior is not completed yet, just to console myself it wasn't that bad

Re: Novitec Rosso Ferrari 599

Can't tell if you painted the door armrests in flat black. Shouldn't they be leather?

yeah, they are still in gloss, i haven't painted them yesterday, but today they are painted

i wasn't too happy with the unevenness around the speaker area, so i carefully sand it with 2000, then masked the CF area and spray light coat of matte clear

now i'm happy

Done the speedometer dial, the piece on top is photo-etch part painted in Mr Color Steel, and carefully scrap off the 'ring'

masked the armrest, and mist spray thick flat black, very time consuming as i need to build up the layers slowly, too much paint you'll flatten the 'sandy' texture
