Geez...what is it with Finns? They just seem to go fast no matter what you put them in. I just wish Kimi and Mika had Keke Rosberg's personality.

Used lots of different stuff. The gold is all brush painted Tamiya Gold Leaf. The suspension parts are airbrished Tamiya Titamium Silver. Engine is Tamiya Bronze, which looked terrible until I sprayed some smoke over the top. The radiator/intercooler and rear suspension bash plate are Alclad Aluminium. The reflectors are Alclad chrome with some graphite dust rubbed in to give an even higher shine. Also used Gunze copper and silver for some of the engine/diff parts.

Been making some slow progress on the Lancer lately. The main sticking point has been the roof, which somehow got badly scratched, right down to the silver decal. I had to strip it back and start again, this time I painted the silver. As a result, with all the clear coats, the area has been masked heaps of times. Had a problem with solvent or something leaking through the masking tape and wrinkling the surface of the already painted areas. That was a major pain to sand out and fix up, not the first time I've experienced this.

On the bottom of the chasis I used bare metal foil to cover the transmission tunnel cutout.

Made an elastic storage basket and mounted it on the rear of the roll cage.

Almost finished dash, just needs a couple of coiled cables from the steering wheel to the console.

And finaly the light pod, covered in carbon fibre and with the reflectors fitted. Don't think I'll do too much more to this, could get silly and add all the adjusting bolts but I want to hurry up and get the Lancer finished, so will cut a few corners.

Phil, I don't think you know how to cut corners, it seems like you only know how to do extreme detailing

It's looking good!

Good to see you're making some progress Phil, I'd been wondering where you had been hiding, now we know

How did you make that basket? I tried to make one for my Focus and failed terribly, any good tips?

Ray
