Just to be safe, on my next kit, I'm gonna wait about 2 months. I'll build a fujimi curbside kit while I wait for my paintjob to dry

What if I put clear coat RIGHT after spraying the color? I remember somone did that and it worked. Any suggestions?

When I said within 10 minutes I meant within the range of ten minutes.

So yes, actually I guess thats the best way for impatient people, like me.

Do it, saves a lot of time and SO much better that waiting for 2 months.

When i clear coat i do it some times the same day i paint it! never ever ahd a problam with it either, i did it one time while it was snowing out side too! once again never had a problam


What that guy said about waiting 4 weeks is another Myth about modeling like you have to primer every thing u paint!

I clear coat when the model is dry, ive noticed the soone rthe better, the more oyu wait the more dust you get on a car then the more of the chance that you cant get the all the dust off!

It may be touch dry, but it does'nt mean that the paint has gased out completley. Don't you use testors paint?

He can d othis if he wants to, its just a risk. I've done the same thing as you and the paint did not crack. But a couple of people on this forum advised me just what I have just said.

Shorty made a mistake or we did, nobody told shorty what he needed to know before integra818 said anything.

Go ahead if you want to but, I'd stay on the safe side right now.

You can work on the suspension or the interior or another kit while waiting a month.

Your choice.

We've already established it is going to be curbside with the intercooler, so what's the difference?

Oh and if you put the clear on 5-10 minutes after the final coat it will work to I believe. I remeber this is a thread.

It's just the idea of him adding an intercooler to a a spoon civic, and spoon doesnt make turbo cars. true that it doesnt matter that it's curbside but a spoon chassis with an intercooler in the front does'nt look right

The difference is I think they think Shorty is putting a spoon engine in his civic. But the problem is that spoon engines are not turbo charged that is why it would seem stupid to have a spoon engine in with an intercooler.

But, I don't think Shorty is going to pretend that he has a spoon engine in there.

I get what you mean. I think he changed his mind and is'nt putting an engine in it.
