That was my first body and I wasn´t sure if this method work that well. For this flared body it was very good to build the parts seperatly.
As I sayd on the beginning, there will be more S-Nissans
Man! Cant wait for that! Imma hold on to my WIP S13 and wait for that tut! Thanx in advance! Can't Wait to see all your silvias completed!

Re: Some Drifters *progress preview*

After a short brake and lots of thinking about colour, stripped or not, rollcage or not....

I did this:
Matte semi stripped interior
The roll cage is made from aluminium tubing, I´m still unsure about the seats.
Double or single bucket seat?

On the chassis I need to build only the exhaust system.

Re: Some Drifters *progress preview*

risko, that is looking fabulous!!!!! <yes I'm THAT excited about it!

I'd really like to know how you are going to tackle the tail lights. I tried something on mine. I painted the black outlines on the outside of the lense and clear coated it to level the paint to look like it was all one piece. from the back of the lense I painted the colors. it turned out fair, but would like to know how others would tackle this very poorly engineered kit to make it look as fantastic as you are making it.

Re: Some Drifters *progress preview*

Many thanks,

I´m struggling a little bit with the tail light, the kit has Zenki and Kouki option.
For that Kouki I think to use the part (with the squares).

I planned to do a LED style, clear and red. If I do LED, I will work on the body part some structure at the center and indicator, I think.

The LED bulbs maybe with a tooth pick and clear glue, red from the inside to the glas and black sorround.

If I do the standard version I will paint black, red and maybe orange on inside the glas.

Re: Some Drifters *progress preview*

cool make sure you document your work on the tails, if we could actually SEE how to go about taking care of this predicament, I bet we'd see ALOT more S14 kits on here.

maybe someone can make a decal for the black outline? or a lazer cut mask?

Sorry, sorry, I was so excited and had a mess on the table, I finished it, but I didn´t any more pics, but I can do a descriprion with Photoshop next time for the tail light if you like.

Allright, many thanks for your kind words and support through my progress!

I´m stupid a bit, today the weather was very nice and I could catch some time to do 80 pics of the COMPLETED S14. After that I thought that looks soo bad and I decided to wax the body. The shine is great now, but the daylight is gone for pictures.
So, please stay tuned, I look forward to do nice pics and I hope the sunshine is with me.

This a teaser for the final view and the last progress pics.

Interior, I decided to add different seats for using not too much of the green ribbon. I aslo made some gadgets more for the dashboard. I had really bad fitment problems with chassis, interior, cage, windows and body, so I chopped the cage, but at final the fitment was great and the cage is too short now...

Undercarriage with custom de-cat exhaust and home made aluminium muffler.

Led-style rear light, completed car (not waxed)

Some fun

Hope you like.

Re: Some Drifters *progress preview*

That is a very cool S14! i hope one day i can build something like that. i like this color alot! and the interior looks good, i like how you have made some parts of the interior match the color of the body, looks good! but the rear spoiler looks unfinished, you didnt ad the side bits. But it still looks very good. i give you 10/10 hope to see more of your great work!

Re: Some Drifters *progress preview*

that turned out fantastic!!! the tails look great too! I can see how you did the lights, it isn't much different than the way I did mine. I just wish there was a better way....decal, or better etching on the lense.

I must say I am encouraged to get on mine again. very inspiring. thank you for sharing such a beautiful car.
