I like to be accurate

http://www.yellowmustangregistry.com...Production.htm
Thats no more than 6,500 2003 Cobras---and blue oval news backs that up as well. You can also take a look at the other model year Cobras-----and their low volume numbers.

thanks bro

I know that I can sound like a dick to most-----but I figure that its best to document then, to let someone know what the real deal. I had to go in for the kill----cause I've always known about the Z06s having a pretty high production number.

No Problem

It is good that you share that documentation...No one can call bullsh^t if you supply the proof...especially good when you come off so strong...you don't want to get caught with your pants down stating the wrong info. I wish everyone had written proof.

Vortech - I don't think you're a dick, and you have the numbers to back up your claims. I yield to your superior research and background knowledge on the subject.

My claims of exclusivity on the Z06 are based on the fact that I have friends who strolled into the local Chevy dealers with cash in hand, and walked out empty-handed. You might see a lot of Z06's on eBay for cheap (mid $40s) but the fact is, you can't buy a new one from a dealer to save your life in these parts! No doubt Ford enthusiasts will encounter the same with the Cobra. Great car, cheap MSRP, and dealers that mark em up $5-$10K because they think the market will bear the price. Ford keeps production numbers low, not because they can't sell more Cobras, but because they want to keep the price high.

A loaded Cobra costs approximately $10K more than a GT with comparable equipment. My comment of 2/3 the cost post-upgrade was way off base. I must have been coming down of my crack.

the Z06s and new cobras are so popular that really at this point---you have to preorder. For example---I own an 01 cobra---not a real hot engine to today's standards---but a pretty bad ass looking body design----at least most think so. I picked mine up for delivery in July2001----had to put down a deposit in Feb 2001. From everything I had read at the Blue Oval news site----they were practically all sold by July. I'm sure the same case goes for the Z06s. I mean---we're talking about buyers in 50 states. And that sure doesn't leave a lot for each state. Personally, I still haven't seen an 03 on the road here in NJ. I've only seen one at my Ford dealership---in the showroom. A coupe----ijn that beautiful blue that they painted on it. If I could do it over again-----would have waited for the 03. But ford screwed over a lot of potential buyers-----by really keeping the stock supercharger tight lipped. I'm very disappointed with Ford----but ----nothing you can do about it. The 2004 cobra----which will be identical to the 03---except its going to have all the extra carbon fiber---and anniversary logos---and ugly stock wheels-----will EASILY====sell out completely----before they go into production. I bet on that!!!!!!!!!!

The mustang may be close in a drag race get it on a track the z06 will eat a mustangs lunch. Mustangs are great straight line start turning and you will see why a mustang is 39,000 and a z06 is 50,000. I had many mustangs over the years and my buddy has an 03 which he is selling cause even drag racing i smoke his ass and on the track he says his car is a joke. So comparing a cobra and a z06 is useless i hear this shit all the time.

And the Vette holds how many occupants? I bet you can fit more groceries in the cobra as well.

Its a different vehicle for a reason, its a different market. Most of the people who buy the Cobra, are not in some mid-life crises.
