First order of business, the actual question of the thread....i have spent a total of about 17,000 on my 240sx. its a 95 SE model. heres the breakdown
1995 Nissan 240sx se--4500
some repairs--400
new stereo--1000
(now the fun stuff)
S15 SR20DET motor and transmission
Greddy BOV
Greddy Front Mount Intercooler
Injen Intake
Apex'i N1 exhaust
Greddy downpipe
apex'i safc
greddy profec-B
apex'i turbo timer
various gauges by autometer
new spark plugs
all of this came out to about 11k installed. and my car doesnt have the sr20det into it yet, its going into the shop sometime within the next week or two. i wish i could install it myself, but i dont have the know-how, or the resources for it. i also had to ship the car from florida to missouri so that took up about 700 bucks as well. within the next year and a half or so i'm planning to get new rims, probably volk, a new suspension by tien, tanabe, or apex'i, an s15 front end conversion with c-west type I front bumper, and R-34 tail lamps grafted in...as well as a new paint job. (yep, i'll be workin my ass off)

next up, correct me if i'm wrong, but, when do spoon civics have a redline of 15,000 RPM??? i think they would send a piston flying straight through the hood at that speed. and captyncrunch, high compression is bad for a turbo engine, and a turbo doesnt increase compression. and turbos dont damage your car that much, but it also highly depends on the car, my sr20det came stock with the turbo, so its pretty happy......some honda series motors, or bigger engines might have a harder time.

I'm guessing those Spoons have a smaller stroke, and hyper-strong, hyper-light recipricating parts (rods, crank, pistons, etc.)

Well, what if they have more than one car? Though still, 150,000+ is astronomical for modding. I want to see some pics of that as well.

Bought my car for 4500, invested 1500 in repairs/light restoration. I plan to install exhaust, intake, headers, wheels, suspension.....and then do a TOTAL restoration when I graduate from college in 3 years:

S15 front clip, black top SR20DET, $5000 paint job, extensive interior work including roll cage. However, I will keep the audio budget to $400, which means NO HEAVY SUBWOOFERs.

I will NEVER sell this car.

Rotaries and heat, how very sad. NSU really pionneered the rotary with the RO80, which was a good car, except the engines lasted 20000miles and thats about it. The Mazda rotary is great, but it still has problems. Maybe the new ones, with no super-hot turbos (also, less pressure), will finally be the total gem of an engine the rotary should have been all along.

Wow, thats an exceptionally good deal on a Delorean! Now you have to say "I want a cheeseburger" (words of Johnny D after leaving courtroom for massive coke/fraud charges...)

follow up

alright, had some more mods come my way so in addition to evreything i posted before a couple posts back, i decided to go with the apex n1 catback 500$ plus black housing headlights 150$ and some metal z3 fenders 100$ and a new tire because a pothole gave me a buldge. 75$

here i am with 2180+500+150+100+75= 3005$ and thats not counting the little 20 buck shits like red floor mats and whiter headlight bulbs. damn thats alot of money... oh yeha i crashed my civic into a guardrail on woolsey canyon road, connects valley to simi valley... i drove it home but smashed right fender into tire and had to do some roadside body work and dragged it out with AAA truck, and broke right headlight reflector in turn signal, but i was going to get new fenders and headlights anyways, so alls good that ends well or something. later af
