Re: Progress - Tamiya Ligier JS-11 (lot's off pics,56K WARNING)

So, after some delay (sorry for that), here are the replies, hopefully for all questions:

-regarding photographing the kit, I do not use any special techniques. I take pics at home, on the balcony, with the white sheet of paper as a backround (Canon A-520), or in my friend’s photographic studio (these are the pics of the engine on the stands, taken with Nikon D100)

-the wing – completely new, the base made from plastic sheet, then covered with aluminum sheet

-the rivets, on the wing among others, are made from a wire, some mild one, that could be easily sanded. First I make holes and place the wires into the holes, then cover the base with Tamiya masking tape, leaving only heads of the rivets out, and then a lot of cutting and sanding. I use Tamiya tape so that I would not destroy the wing surface.

-regarding prototypes of new parts – I rarely use such method. Usually I make final version of the part, prototypes only delay the work, moreover most times the final version is a way different from my original idea or drawing, as the original thinking is usually technically impossible to make

So I redraw the part on a piece of a paper, usually from the photos of an original thing, cut the paper and try to fit it into the model. When the shape is more or less correct, I make the final version of the part and finish it then, making sure everything fits during the whole process.

Hopefully I did not forget any answers, if yes, just ask again, please

I do not speak much English, so I always have to wait for my friend to translate, and he is very slooow and lazy

and the last pic, showing work on monocoque...

Michal, absolutely superb! I would love to see how you would build a old Cooper or Bentley.

Guy instead of stamps, do you want to join me in a game of marbles?
