-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by hondakiller YOUR ALL MORONS!! FIST OFF THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TWIN TURBO 2NG GENERATION RX-7(UNLESS SOMEONE DID AN ENGINE TRANSPLANT). I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE ONE. THE 2 IN TURBO II DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT'S A TWIN TURBO!!! THE THIRD GENERATION RX-7S ARE THE TWIN TURBOS. SECONDLY YOU'LL BUY AN RX-7 IF YOUR WANT A RELIABLE CAR. WHO EVER SAID THAT THE ROTARY ENGINE ISN'T RELIABLE SHOULD GET THERE HEAD OUT OF THERE ASS AND THINK FOR A SECOND. THE ROTARY ENGINE HAS 80% FEWER MOVING PARTS THAN YOUR RICER HONDA, THEY DON'T NEED A VALVE TRAIN AT ALL. THEY ALSO SPIN MORE FREE THAN A PISTON. I CAN EASILY TAKE MY CAR TO 10k RPM BEFORE I LET OFF, AND YOU KNOW WHAT, I'VE OWNED THE CAR FOR 3 YEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. MY CAR ASLO DOES 0-60 IN UNDER 6 (5.7 ACTUALLY)SEC AND MY CAR IS STOCK. MY FINNAL POINT IS ABOUT THE REBUILD KITS, IF YOU WOULD STOP LOOKING AT ALL THE PORN ON THE INTERNET AND LOOK FOR PARTS, YOU CAN FIND THINGS A LOT CHEAPER. A COMPLETE, AND I MEAN COMPLETE, REBUILD KIT WILL COST YOU AROUND $600+LABOUR. BUT YOUR NOT GOING TO NEED ONE AT 90kMILES, I HAVE 150k ON MY CAR AND IT STILL WILL BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF YOUR MOM'S GROCERY GETTER. SO IN CONCLUSION, IF YOU WANT A GOOD CAR BUY A RX-7. IF YOU CAN'T GET A ROTARY, SAVE YOUR MONEY this guy is right !!! i bought my turbo2 new in 1988 it now has 220,000 miles on it never been rebuilt and it will still snap your neck back and smoke about 90% of the honda's around |

Also they have a wider track, and come with 16x8 wheels, with 245/50/16s from the factory. Really good cars

Why would he have to drop 5K on the engine it dosnt have to be old he could find as new as a 97 for cheap maybe even newer and it sounds like less money and work than some of the other options mentioned. I think those other cars are too old for some one with a limited buget you want as new as you can get what ever car it is. I only sugested the BMW (No not because Im a BMW Nazi) because its already fast and it wouldnt take much work to get it really fast. And it probably wouldnt need a lot of work right away like some of these other cars would. I mean come on theirs not that many RX7s or Supras out their in good condition cheap if your lucky enough to find one cheap chances are it needs work and probably right away before you can drive it let alone race it.So:finger: Cbass J/k .....END RANT.....

Oh, I meant to pay for a new rotating assembly, stand alone EFI, and a bigass turbocharger :hehehe:
You could just give it 12:1 compression, port it, upgrade the exhaust, and be making 300+ hp... Superb cars, just not the best choice for a street racer. Turbocharged medium displacement engines are generally the best choice for that. Actually, supercharged large displacement engines are much better, but for some reason most "street racers" don't want to consider that...
