Phil,
yes! Its coming later this ye.....oh. Looks like Brian stole my thunder once again ;-)>

He builds museum quality models. Builds them fast. Has all the 411. I just can't "compete" with the guy...

The real shame is that the Lambo factory never gave the US teams the support they were expecting and the cars were pulled before the season end...

Bill

Re: Progress: Lamborghini Murcielago

The paint looks awesome Phil. Great choice of color.
The Lamborghini basecoat/pearlcoat paints are truly gorgeous.

I can't wait to see this beauty completed.

I got to see these race here at Road Atlanta! They sound so good going by. Just like an F1 car.

It's not a prototype, it's a real life race car. Or used to be until the team taht ran it was forced to abolish the project due to the lack of factory support and poor competitiveness. Too bad, was the most popular ALMS car this year among the fans, looked and sounded great, even though I personally believe they could have done a better job on the livery.

Re: Progress: Lamborghini Murcielago

that is what i meant with prototype car, a real car - not a model, sorry if that was the wrong word
after all, school with english lessons is already some years ago

Re: Progress: Lamborghini Murcielago

That's OK. The word "prototype" is usually used to describe a car at a development stage before it becomes a real production or race car.

Re: Progress: Lamborghini Murcielago

It takes a brave man to lay down some funky color like that! Sweet!

Re: Progress: Lamborghini Murcielago

Sure was, neither car finished though. This thread could almost be moved to the motorsports folder

Back to the lime green Murcie. I've given it two coats of clear and will now wait a day or two before I sand and polish it up. Might need to give it another coat, will wait and see how it looks. After the clear the finish has lost some of it's chameleonic colour changing effects, which is probably a good thing in scale. Hopefully I'll have some progress to report on the engine, interior and brakes soon.
