How does a Corvette qualify as a sleeper?? Corvettes are performance cars that look like they can go fast. Not to mention the fact that they can.

Here in America it would have to be the R32 GT-R. I looks far more normal than a 400R speedster or R34 Nur with it's mean look. Plus with that RB under the hood it's plenty fast, even stock. In other parts of the world though, people would probably spot if quickly.

Ok...question......why the hell would someone rip the badges off their car.....i think that is probably the stupidest thing i've ever heard...."let me make my car look worse then it really is"
In my opinion the Pontiac Bonneville is an amazing sleeper car.........mine is pretty good, but the newer ones, especially with the Turbocarger will take on alot of performance cars........it looks big, it is big, it's heavy, but it kicks some serious ass.....

because in some parts of the world (i dont know where you're from so maybe u dont have to experience this) little shits will vandalise a car if it is nicer than they can afford. For example, a BMW 520 wont get touched, but they will tear an M5 to pieces given the chance.
And also people like to see the look on their faces when they burn off the little boy racers who think they are pullin up to race the 520, when little do they know that under the bonnet is the M5's 400bhp V8.

dbartoschek, your right. Also the Pontiac Grand Prix is a sleeper. Buy the GTP version with the supercharger and take off the GTP badge. That thing can mos def. haul ass. My friend use to have one and he was burning everybody. I sat in it alot and when that supercharger came on, I couldn't breath. The amount of force that is on you is amazing. The Grand Prix is fat, chubby and looks slow, so i think it is def one of the best stock sleepers. And its affordable at 25,000. I dont call a M5 or M3 a sleeper because they look somewhat fast and plus its too expensive to take the badges off. Why dont you just get a cheap BMW and mod up the engine. Its cheaper and it has the potential to give the M3 or M5 a run for its money. I think that is stupid. Trust me, I would love to see the faces of people who get smoked. But i think its just dumb to buy an expensive car and rip its badges off to fool people. Your just fooling yourself. Its like saying "Why dont you buy a brand new lamborgani and strip its badges." Hell..put on some 14 in wheels with hub caps, take off the front and rear bumper, have some toilet tissue hang out the trunk and use PCP piping for the exhaust. Its still not a sleeper. Another good sleeper I think is a old Cavalier. They are pretty fast. Turbo charger it and youll definitley get some jaw dropping expressions. My friend has a old Cavalier in automoatic and he still dust people. he dusted a old stock eclipse and a old integra to name a few. What he does before he takes off is switch the car ti gear L1 or 1. Its like first gear. Then when he gets around 30 mph, he shifts the car upto Drive and hes off.

Re: Best Sleeper Car Overall?

the best sleeper car is my buddy 2000 mini. we found an old 911 that was in a fire and rebuild the engine and droped her into the trunk/back seats of the mini. then we tinted the windows so no one can see in side of her. we had to raise the car up from tires/ suspension to handle the power and the weight. it is always fun to see peopel faces when we drag her on the strip or just around town. liek when kids got there daddy vet/viper out man thats a good laugh.

Re: Best Sleeper Car Overall?

Dude this thread is 4 YEARS OLD. No one has posted in here since 2002. I know your new here but its pretty annoying to alot of people to see dead threads coming back. And thats more than just drop and run with a motor in the rear of a car. You left out about 3 weeks of non stop work.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
