Well more progress, I got it primed but the primer is being gay and instead of sticking to the model its flaking (I dont know if that makes sense). What I dont understand is i cleaned it with warm water and soap I even used a small vaccum to get rid of any dust that could have been on it but I still got orange peel. Is there something Im doing wrong, feedback please. The sideskirts are not in the pic because I pormed them after I took these pics.

Re: In Progress: Chop top Silvia

it's looking good. But for the "flaking", have you washed it very good with warm running water after you used the soap? and was the body dry (after washing it should rest for a day) when using the primer? I think you have done it correctly but i can't think of something else that causes flaking

doesn't orange peel occur w/ primer? i use krylon primer and i always get orange peel you just have to sand it smooth w/ 600 grit or higher.... as for the "peeling" do you actually mean you can peel off the primer w/ your fingers?

Re: In Progress: Chop top Silvia

I had the same problem happen to me and did the same steps as you did to your model. I even warmed the body up as well. It only happened to one model but the rest of the models I did I used the same method and turns out fine. Hope you find out what going wrong.

I primed it after like 20 minutes after I washed it, that might be the problem.

Finally I'm back, I have'nt posted any updates lately b/c I had to focus on school for awhile and plus I did'nt have a camera to use. But anyways just paited it, sun is going down here too kinda crappy pics. I used tamiya gold as a base and used metallic red as a top coat (trying to go for that candy apple color) I might use blck or gunmetal TE-37s with a polished lip, still need to put a heavier coat, also one question when I spray the heavier coat how far should i be away and how many coats?
