I bet you can't wait for that final assembly stage, when the whole thing just comes together. I'd be absolutely itching to do that.

Very much so Alex. Although I enjoy trying to make each subassembly a complete little work-of-art on itself. Okay that sounds concieted but you know what I mean.

Thanks guys. Finished the exhaust and drivetrain, see pic below. I partially wraped the exhaust up in easter egg foil Started clear coating the bodyshell today as well and am regretting using the Museum Collection decals. They are so thick it will not be possible to completely smooth the surface out. Should have stuck to the Tamiya and LauBak ones

phil, you should stop misleading us with pictures directly off the real car in the factory!

but seriously, everytime I check in depth a progress report by you I m really struck by the amount of detail you manage to squeeze inside a 20 cm small car and still make it look clean and real!

Hats down to the detailmaster

Re: Progress: Ford Escort Group A - 1994 1000 Lakes

Thanks for the complement Olivier, you flatter me too much! Unfortunately I don't think this model is going to turn out that well, from a distance it will be okay but up close the lumpy decals will look awful. I've considered stripping the body and starting again but then I'd miss Zeljko's comp for sure

Nice to fascinate you Seb! Not sure what you mean by 'parallelize task'. Do you mean build all the different sections up concurrently?

Never thought of another way to do it to be honest. How do you and others build? One section at a time or something?

Yes, one section at a time, i try to do like you, but each time i return on one section build and concentrate on it, the same for body, i don't know why i never do it in first...and make interior while paint or clear are drying... All a model build education to redo :-p

You must have a better attention span than me Seb, in order to concentrate on one part like that So many different ways of reaching the same destination, I guess.
