Re: 1/24 Revell Corvette C6R

I see you repaired the vette nicely. You can e-mail mathew wells at scale motorsport and i think he probably would send you another set. Really nice guy.

Good luck and is starting to look great with the decals.

Unfortunate set-back but nice recovery! I've hit that point where stuff just happens but that's where I've had the most growth in this hobby.

Side-note: your website is awesome and I've been a fan of builds for a while now.

Re: 1/24 Revell Corvette C6R

Thanks for the support guys! I was "this" close to crush the body shell with my bare foot and toss it in a garbage to call it a day.

Sure, It was 100% my fault, but I couldn't help how mad I was.

I was extremely pissed off at how I dropped the body at a critial moment and how stupidly it happened...

About several days later, I was able to recoup the mistake and was able to start polishing the body panels.

And this is where I am right now.

I am almost done with polishing and ready to tackle the small, but still very important parts: mirrors, rivets, antennas, emblems, the rear wing, etc.

I used "Alclad"'s transparent yellow on the lens covers, but the color doesn't look right. It has too much of orange tone.

I did not like it at first, but now it is growing on me.

Should I fix it?

It actually accentuate the front nicely without making it look out of place.

Maybe the color is "acceptable". I will think more and decide if I want to fix the color to be more "yellow"-ish!

Ah, and the winshield "Corvette" decal should be in red, so I will fix that too.

I suspect another 5 or 6 hours, I should be able to complete this kit and will post pictures in the gallery section.

I am sure many of you guys can probably scratch build the wheels and diffuser details; in that case, the SMS kit might not be required to make the Revell's kit look great.

I guess "talent" saves money! For me, I am not there yet, so I had to buy the detail kit!

Welcome to AF! And thanks! I totally agree with you. I think the true skill in our scale modeling is really how you "fix" your mistakes. And this is probably how we all learn thing or two!

It is safe to say that we all make mistakes and those who can correct the mistakes can build a better looking model...

Unfortunately, my web site needs a major overhaul and I have been in the process of upgrading for ages.

I am trying to learn new web tools to redesign my web site to give fresh look and feel, but it is painfully slow...

Great work! Nice save on the body.Very nice finish on the body.

Do you mind posting a WIP on your F248? That would be interesting to see develop.

It does look a bit odd compared to the 1:1 version. Is it because of the body color yellow inside the headlight buckets that kind of color clashes with the Alclad? or is it just because the shade of the Alclad?

If you're not too much into doing every last drop of the 1:1, I think it's fine. Great work so far.

Very well done, I've had a few disasters myself but when it's in the display case looking great, it will all be worth it. congratulations.

I think the Alclad shade is bit darker and it is showing off on lighter yellow... I have decided to go with "proper" tone (for now).

I just started to build the kit, once I make decent progress, I will try to share it here....

Ouch! I feel your pain! You are right, going back to step 1 is the hardest. No motivation at all to redo all over again.
