Re: Honda S800 Racing - Tamiya 1/24
Small update.
Dashboard is finished. I have modified Tamiya's cast (i.e. milled ashtray) and added some knobs and other bits to make it more like real thing. Speedometer is out of dashboard (drilled out) as in real car. ![]() ![]() Also, engine detailed. I have added details to throttle bodies - shaft, spring and handle for throttle cable. Cable mounted on support with simulated cable stop screw. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Macio4ever; 02-20-2010 at 12:21 PM. |

The dash is perfect, just like the 1:1.

Re: Honda S800 Racing - Tamiya 1/24
More details done.
1) Red arrow: new radiator pipe with clamps (Top Studio). 2) Blue arrow: valve train breathing pipe. This is my best guess - in road version breathing pipe goes to intake. I think that in race version pipe goes free along block avoiding to let engine breath unpolluted air 3) White arrow - water pipe. I did bypass so water goes straight from pump to block as opposite to road version where it goes through heating system. This is best guess. Why? Heating knobs are dulled so I think they dismounted heating radiator and bypassed coolant hoses. 4) Modified battery, added secure strap, cables. Positive cable will be glued later. ![]() ![]() I am very impressed with the way you managed to get the hose ties to work so well. They have beaten me every time I tried them

Re: Honda S800 Racing - Tamiya 1/24
Thanks again
![]() I usually use a plastic rod to bend the ties/clamps with the same diameter as hose I am planing to detail. Bended ties are glued with tiny drop of CA under the hose so the glue point is hidden. Those Top Studio clamps are very thin and easy to bend. BTW radiator hose is made of styrene rod heat-bended over ligther and painted with XF-1 What I am trying to achive are the details which are in scale. I think that throttle cable is unfortunately a bit out of scale but the rest seems OK to me. |

Engine detailing almost finished. Ignition coil scratch built, lelectric regulator, cables etc. There will be water tank added as well. Left corner shows Tamiya mold.
