WOW! Nice job so far. Did you put the CF on the hood or just paint it black?? Will look really much better with the rims that you've order from HLJ. Are you going to scratchbuild a rear difuser?? I'm planning to do this kit to.

the hood is sprayed semi-gloss black, there are way to many vents and curves in that hood for a decal

i would build a diffuser if i knew what it look like do have any pics of one? essp. on the RX-7

Not to hijack your thread or anything but you can see this car in action in this movie . The RE-Amemiya is about 15 minutes into the movie.

It worked for me but it doesn't download, it just opens it. It is a 22+ minute video though, so it may take a while.

Finally after nearly a month of stalling i got back to building my RX-7.
Unfortunately there has been a small disaster; my loving grandma dicided to do me a favour and pack up my RX-7 (without my knowledge) while i was curing a mild case of the munchies in the kitchen. she then come to tell me that she had knocked over a bottle of glue (plastic weld) on my work bench. i made a bee-line to my bench to investigate. And... the plastic weld had spilled all over the rear light cluster and the spoiler. i pulled them both out of the glue with tweasers and set them to dry so that i could sand and smooth them back into shape. my "self healing" cutting board was also ruined in the process.

i have now sanded the the two parts and preped them for painting, here are the pictures:

after this set back i was mildly traumatized so i didnt make any progress for a while, but today i finally got back into it and painted my new aquired RE Ameniya AW-7's. i masked off the lip with liquid masking tape and airbrushing the inside testors *gold*. this was my first time airbrushing anything.

comments welcome.

PS: sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, i think the lens of the camera is a little smudged

Those rims look great. Aren't those the ones that are on the real RE RX-7? Anyway, Fujimi really messed up this kit, IMO. The bodywork looks all funny, and the wheels look like they are pushed in. You did a great job though.

It is coming along very nicely. I was wondering what was going on with this kit.

Out of all the things the glue could hit, it had to be the clear part...didn't it!

You might want to sand the glue off, and give the clear piece a bit of rub with compound and then some wax and it should make it clear again.

lucky for me the glue didnt smudge the lenses, but the top-half got the full blow. i'll try rubbing it with compound and was like you said
