There's appreciation when time, money, and thought goes into a car here. If you can't share that appreciation, or at least respect another man's (or woman's) pride in what they've accomplished with their rides, you don't belong here.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, and I won't assume that I speak for any sizable portion of AF'ers, but I for one happen to believe that driving a car for all it's worth, and in many cases making it into something decent in the first place, both require a healthy dose of disrespect for the car itself.

Every car has potential, and that potential - if anything - can be respected. But for that potential to be reached, the starting point must be disdained.

So I for one will stand by any and all disrespect I may have implied.

(And if the guy with the Civic did exist, I'd wish he had enough disrespect for it to make it fast enough to beat even a GN. For his sake, at least as much disrespect as we could have seen in this thread.)

A fairly profound statement indeed. But it's the disrespect of other's spirit to modify to their liking and their efforts towards improving their car's performance that I disapprove of.

I'm constantly amazed at why people talk like badasses on forums. I guess it's because if you talked to someone like that in person, they'd knock out your teeth... at least I would.
