Amen to that brother! Everyone in my immediate family is driving subaru awd's hehe.

Me - WRX
Wife - 2.5 RS
Mom - legacy
best friend - WRX
best friends wife - outback sport
other best friend - 2.5 RS

See what happens when you build an awesome product? You listening big 3??? Oh, for those of you who haven't seen it already, a WRX just laid down a 10.57 quarter mile at 140 here in the US. Try that with your daily driven 4dr big 3 car with full interior and all the factory options. Granted it had quite a few aftermarket add-ons but still, nothing that couldn't be replicated easily. In fact the company that markets it is selling it as a dealer option through select dealers.

was it a privateer or was it a sponsered car like a greddy wrx or an hks wrx???

10.57, impressive, but don't forget, the Lancer isnt here yet :finger:

Theres an eclipse that ran the quarter mile in 9.8 with a 4g63 , whise is a lancer engine, if an eclipse can do it, and a lancer has more technologies such as tracktion control and what-not, then, the Lancer can go that fast too!

It was a shop. These were the guys that did it but their site has the old stats: http://www.easystreetmotorsports.com/

Keep in mind though that they were using a built engine from a company in australia that's been building subaru motors for years. You can see the car in the latest issue of Turbo too.

True the lancer isn't here yet, however from what I've heard and read I don't think I'd like the lancer. Too many electronic gizmo's for me. Have you driven a WRX? It really does like to be driven hard, I've driven in pretty much anything you can think of in my driving career so far, and I can honestly say that the driver makes all the difference with a WRX. The harder you push a WRX the faster it goes. Not to hijack this thread too far off but the lancer has it's minuses as well, when you get down to it, it's still a basic honda engine layout, so it will never be as smooth as a 'boxer' style motor. Also I swear that there must be more kinks in a lancer drivetrain due to the engine layout but I don't know for sure.

I dont want one, I hate FWD but even more I dispise Ricers, every Civic I see is a heap of Rice on wheels, with a rice boi driving it. Take Gone in 60 for example, THAT is a heap of rice (when it drags the Porsche).

Awwww, that's nice,

Try not sounding so belligerant the next time you try to make a comment, one of these days some guy in a civic might hand you your ass! Learn to respect other people's cars. There will always be some out there faster, and "better" than you are. Making gross generalizations also make you sound like a third grader.

got to love ignorant people!

Have a Nice Day!!!

I hope I didn't just start a flame war.

No, he means Gone in 60 Seconds. Just after Kyp steals the porsche from the showroom he stoplight drags a civic and that is when they get noticed by the cops (doing 80mph downtown will do that ) which leads to the warehouse being found which kickstarts the whole plot.

My dog ain't in this fight, but I'll jump in!
The reason Honda Civics get so many flamings is the ricer-image constantly reinforced EVERY damn day while on the road. Just tonight I had some rice-punk all over my rear-end as I was going 51 in a 45 zone, with 2 lanes to pass!! I guess he wanted to "run my Camaro"! NO street-legal Civic will EVER hand me my ass! There are but a handful in the U.S. that do a 1/4-mile faster than my Camaro (all of them dedicated dragsters) yet ever Civic punk with a big pipe seems to think I want to waste my gas making them smaller in the rear-view-mirror.

Faster? Yes. Better? Maybe. When the majority of Civic ricers start practicing respect, they will start getting some.

A ricer is someone who "fixes up" their car with cheap parts in an effort to convince people they are not slow, and they get out of every right turn speeding to try to cinvince others and THEMSELVES that their car not slow, some people acctually think those wannabes are fast.
Ricers ruin my reputation at school, everytime a car conversation comes up, they ask me what kind of car I like, and I say, civics, integras, lancers, and they say civics are peices of shit, and when I tell them a built civic can take a mclaren f1 (11.6 quarter mile) , they think I don't know shit, even tough a built civic CAN go faster than 11.6, to this day, people at school STILL don't believe me that a 6 cylender "nissan" from japan, and that it's impossible to get 1400 hp from a 6 cylender skyline engine. I'm gonna go ricer hunting as soon as I get my integra back.

IF YOU OWN A 4 DOOR CIVIC LX WITH A TYPE R SIGN, PLEASE SLAP YOURSELF, IF YOU HAVE AN EXAUST TIP AND YOU THINK IT GIVES YOU 10 HP,PLEASE SLAP YOURSELF,IF YOU HAVE SMALL BLACK RIMS IN THE FRONT AND BIG "CUSTOM"RIMS IN THE BACK, AND YOU DON'T RACE (SPEEDING DOES'NT COUNT) ,PLEASE SLAP YOURSELF, iF YOU HAVE MORE STICKERS THAN HORSEPOWER,PLEASE SLAP YOURSELF,IF YOU THINK YOUR BOOTLEG BODY KIT MAKES YOU FASTER ON THE FREEWAY, PLEASE SLAP YOURSLEF, IF YOU HAVE A 10 INCH TALL ALLUMINUM WING AND YOUR CAR DOES'NT GO MORE THAN 110 MPH,PLEASE SLAP YOURSELF, IF ANYONE HAS CALLED YOU A RICER, PLEASE PROCEED TO SLAP YOURSELF
:finger4: FUK RICERS

No, Riceburner= Japanese car, get it, Rice?
Ricer = Somebody who drives a rice burner (well, thats just common sence). When my Dad was young, he always had Holdens, so when he rented a Toyota, they called it the rice burner (that was like in the 70's) so whether the meaning has changed or not....I dunno.

Opps, sorry, I forgot...

I guess the word Civic and Porsche made me think of the Fast and the Furious, the Supra and the Ferrari race... or I wasn't thinking

A civic hand me MY arse? I severly doubt it, I would take one of those things on with my god damn lowrider bike! Its not the car its the driver really, and you dont have to react like that, is it just because you own a civic and are tired of people giving you shit because of all the rice boys you got in the US? Ok, I may hate civics, well most Hondas actually, but that doesn't mean i am ignorant. I also was not making a "gross generalizations". I will give you an example though about rice, today i went into Sydney (virtually the main city in Oz) and every Civic I saw was a heap.....Thre was a very sad boy racer one at this car show i went to and there was a early 90s 4 door sedan that had stickers all around it and it said "mugen power" on the windsheild, it had 2 baby seats in the back and it looked like it had not been washed since it was new 10 years ago. I'm just saying I dislike FWD and Civics, how can you hold it against me? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and thats mine.
