Here are some photos of my work area out in the garage. Also where I keep my stash of paint and kits!

I don't have a spray booth just airbrush on the table and get paint dust everywhere. By opening the front and back doors I get decent ventilation, but always wear a respirator as well. When I spray with cans I do it outside.

RallyRaider, that is just too organised!! Great workspace though.

I do all my modelling at my desk in the bedroom. The only disadvantae is that I have to pack up after eveery session.

I mainly use automotive spray cans, so spraying is done outside in the garden on a crappy old crate, so I'm at the mercy of the weather! I also use a double filter spraymask designed by the manufacturers of the paint. It works great, but I look like I'm about to go combat training in chemical warfare everytime I go to spray a model!!

Those are very great workspaces. Nice quiet places to work without anyone bothering you when you are putting those tedious pieces together.

I'll try to remember to shoot a couple pictures of the booth.

It's a booth offered by Micro-Mark. I bought it a little more than a year ago, and it's been a good investment. Painting in the house is just too dangerous without one, and here in Wisconsin, I HAVE to paint inside most of the year!

The booth is a "downdraft" model -- the fumes are drawn through a filter in the floor of the booth. They exit the booth through a flexible aluminum tube (the kind used for clothes dryers). I vent the booth through a window -- I built a plywood "plug" that fits in the opened window, and the vent runs through that. I can set it up or tear it down in a couple of minutes, and the plug keeps the fumes (or the cold outside air) from coming back into the room.

I'm probably not explaining things very well. I'll shoot some pictures in the next couple of days to show you what I'm talking about.

Matt

Oh there's a resin 306 in there alright Seb! Two of them in fact, Modellers and Renaisance. Only the one Heller 205 Evo2 however, (can you believe I only bought it for the decals? ) the other Heller boxes are a Renault 5 Turbo and Peugeot 905. There is also an Xsara there somewhere just out of shot!

That's my current workspace. Kinda cramped, but I like it since I have easier access to everything.

That's my "spray booth" made from an old science project. I definitely need to build a new "spray booth" since this one is pretty dirty. The kitchen range hoods are rated at 1150 CPM or thereabouts.

When airbrushing, vapor is nearly nonexistent, however when spraying Krylon and Tamiya the smell can get pretty heavy, which is why I own a double filter paint mask. The smell never leaves the kitchen, though, so its doing its job. My parents have never complained about any smell..

And finally, ideally I would like to have the type of desk found in cubicle office jobs. If you've never seen a cubicle, think of two tables that meet in a corner of a room, and you sit right where the two meet. That way, you have access to two tables worth of stuff with minimum effort.
Thanks for those pics man! I can now get some paint work done. I'm going to build a booth like that. I couldn't really get any models done because of the weather outside where I used to do my painting. Kitchen here I come...hehehe!

No problem. Still haven't gotten around to changing it, though. There's paint dust all over the floor where I store them.

I spy a skyline!

I think it'd be cool if we could get some sort of clean room to do modeling in, like the ones they build hard drives in or paint cars in, that keeps dust out
