It's kind of funny, Civic SI and Spec V owners going at it about their prospective cars, and me, a Focus SVT owner.... to be completely honest, the only two other cars i considered before i bought the SVT were the Spec V and the Civic SI (but not the new one, i think honda botched it for more than one reason).
I test drove each of the vehicles, and had friends let me drive each of theirs, and i think that each of the vehicles has different strengths and weaknesses in relation to each other, but the biggest thing is how SIMILAR the cars are; 1/4 mile times, skidpad, stopping distance, etc, are all close enough that the onle thing that will differentiate seeing one set of taillights or the other is A) aftermarket parts (where civics definitely have the advantage, i'm still looking for an SVT-exclusive EXHAUST and forced induction) and B) the DRIVER.

yeah so alot of people have their info wrong... the only points i know for sure, is that, 1. when we test drove the SVT today, we got a quote for 15,090 (2002, brand new.) with 0 down. and that it's really pretty quick... i would definately take it over anything that says honda, for the sake of origionality, and i love the exhaust note... madd props for ford coming out with a car that competes with (and beats) alot of cars in it's class for less than 16,000.

i got the svt contour, definately not impressed. I dont really like the lack of torque, but if you are interested mostly in the high end, it definately performs. Ive heard the svt focus is the same way. By the way, my contour is supercharged, and for sale.
Check it out.

I am a huge sr20 fan (se-R kinda guy). But only the classics. 91-94 se-rs and NX 2000s. The new se-r does and always will be a sorry excuse for the se-r. I know someone with a SVT focus and he ran a 15.3 with some mods. Do you guys know any places to find out about mods for the SVT? looking to disable egr, cam timing, etc? thanks

Re: Ford SVT Focus

Well I acquired a 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 it says SVT above the ZX3 . It has tuned headers and the underbody cat the rest I'm going to have to research. Problem is Ford did not have Cosworth build this engine till the 2002 model? If mines a fake they faked it good. I burned a '99 Mustang 3.8 liter 190 hp this morning in a staged race. Another odditie mine has an AUTOMATIC. According to the specs I've found this SVT either had a 5 or 6 speed? Anybody got any Ideas? It's probably not worth anything even if it's real, but I'd like to know if it is real AND if it is worth anything. I know this doesn't authinticate anything but it does have 150 (or is it 160 on the speedo) IT WILL HAUL the mail.
