Oh man, I'd have fought that to the bitter end. That just justifies it to that slob of an officer that it's okay for it to go on further. Most cops are alright, but I hate the stupid ones...

My mom recently got a ticket in Houston for speeding. If you are out of state, they are really looking to nail you because they know that you aren't going to be able to show up for court and your only option is to just pay it. Tickets are all about revenue for cities...not safety, regardless of what they claim.

not always true, sherrifs get -nothing- out of giving tickets, they dont have to. They dont really give much a care about what you do unless its 70 in a 40 or something...i've done pleanty and they never cared.

LBPD on the other hand is a city force and has a quota of how many they have to give each month.

The sherrif does get revenue from tickets as well. The money from the tickets that they give out goes to the county and is split throughout the department...also some of the money is given to the city where the ticket was given.

here it goes 100% to the city, the force gets nothing other than standard funding unafected by it

Although if a certain number of arrests is made, they get a bonus, so I think i'd rather a ticket than jail time

in england we have speed cameras and when the police give you tickets and you get tickets from the cameras all money goes to the treasury not the police so the police really don't like speed cameras either

apparently you have to do 180mph for a camera not to give you a ticket cuz it doesn't even know you passed it SWEET DEAL now how on earth do i use that useless information to get up to 180mph on a 30mph B road that has corners n stuff ................ maybe i just burn the camera ........

sheriffs

The sheriffs here in Ohio are cool about all kinds of stuff but the second you step into the "City" the city cops are all over you for everything. I once had a group of guys in the back of my pickup and we were cruising at about 35 and a sheriff just drives by and waves.

How do you think they get that money? Revenue from tickets is put into a pot and dispersed as needed.

I don't race for any of those reasons. It's about making money and letting people know that this is the car you wish you could see out there. I strictly built this car for street racing, it seems it's gonna see alot of the track to though.
