The 1st gen MR2 is quicker than our 2nd Gen Si (ZC powered) end of story. = Weight + RWD + = power = CRX loses.
2nd gen MR2 is just a bit better based on traction - you can't beat RWD for traction based on weight transference on takeoff - fact. It's fatter, but has a better chassis and really puts the power down compared to a CRX which runs a Civic chassis. I've said it before, I love Hondas, but just 'cause you drive one, doesn't mean you'll be quicker than everything else. BTW, All 3 cars are NA over here except for the JDM imports which are supercharged or turbocharged depending on its model. BTW - don't knock the Camry engine - these things can be tuned to get a hell of a lot of power - try 200bhp NA in a Clubman and you won't see it for dust. Note: I hate Camrys as much as the next person, but the motors are damn good and wide open to huge mods. |

you are all idiots (well most) the 2nd gen mr2 n/a with the 3sge has 153 hp from 90-93 (yes 90...production started in 90) and 175 for 94+ (until that beauty known as the BEAMS with v-vti and 200 hp)....im certain it will walk all over a civic with the slightly more hp....i raced my friends eclipse gs with approx 155 hp due to some mods...and i walked all over him....quit braggin about your car is dohc....so what...mr2 is dohc too...take that, engine over rear drive wheels and the mr2 will smoke the ___ outta your civic...people need to research instead of posting stuff thats not true...i also own an 88 crx si (god help me get rid of that pile of shit) and my deuce would beat my rex hands down by atleast 3 car lengths in the quarter

Wow, nice 3 posts...... anyway the above is mostly Bullshit. There is no way a 3sge will have over 175hp stock. Quite simply it requires tuning the engine to a point where it becomes to hard to live with in everyday use for it be sold as a factory spec car. Toyota are far to conservitive to do it. And beside's why would they bother when the performance version of the MR2 is the Turbo (with 240-280hp). Prehaps your the one that needs to do some resurch before simply running your mouth off. Infact I doubt your even old enough to actualy own a car, let alone an MR2.
